If nothing else, the March meeting of the
Community Club was lively! With me as new President and not a clue of what to do, we
muddled through the best we could. Bob M. suggest I go to the library to check out a meeting
etiquette book and I told him if I had to do that, I was in the wrong job. I am so grateful that we can be casual and have fun.
A huge thank you to Mariann Martin for providing a delicious dessert!
We did discuss some ideas for the upcoming year. We will try to work with some of the kids from the school to come up with a group that might like to do some community service with Peace Haven. We are hoping that our next meeting will be a membership booster and will work on something special to bring some guests in.
Scholarship forms have been delivered to Walnut Comminity High School. If you have a graduating senior, be sure they apply for our annual $300 scholarship award. The deadline for the applications is April 15th!
If you have belonged to the CC in the past and no longer belong, please consider. One of the goals for 2009 is to bring the community together by including more families, different generations, and Walnut business.
Our 2nd Annual Plant Sale will be held in downtown Walnut on Saturday May 3rd. Be sure to come down to purchase your bedding plants and support the community club!
